This sad-looking boy is Byron.  He was tied up at the pound when this photo was taken.

But don’t worry, Byron has just been adopted, in time for a big family Christmas in Canberra. So he’s very, very happy now.

Byron is an American bulldog.  But don’t go thinking he’s a tough guy just because he looks tough. He’s a very gentle, loving boy. He loves and cuddle and a kiss (don’t you love that black kisser of his!).

Meet my friend Elle. She’s gorgeous. In fact, she’s delicious (well, mama says she’s chocolate, so that must mean she’s delicious.  Mind you, I don’t get to eat much chocolate, but the tiny bits I’ve had have been delicious).

Elle lives with Derek and Andre in Bentleigh, which is not too far from where I live.  Derek used to work with my mama (and secretly, mama hopes they’ll work together again one day because she thinks Derek is ace).

I got this email and photo from some new friends recently. Aren’t I lucky!

Our Dad Laurie was talking to your Mum at work yesterday and she told him about your website and blog. This sounds pretty cool, so we thought we’d drop you a line to introduce ourselves and give you the link to our webpage.

Anyway Mum and Dad are running a bit late for work this morning, so we’d better cooperate and get moving.

Tipu lives in Ganeshpuri with his human mother, Yogini (who runs a great guest house, and makes the world’s best chai). He has a bit of a cough that the doctor hasn’t been able to fix. Even Sylvia’s healing session didn’t fix it, but he probably adored the attention.

Tipu doesn’t let his cough get him down. He gets on with his life – checking out new visitors, running out the front gate to see what’s going on in town, and making sure he doesn’t miss out on Yogini’s great food (he’s almost on the podgy side – quite unusual for an Indian dog). And when he needs a bit of a rest, he has a good lie down.

Sounds like a pretty good approach to life, don’t you think?

Not all the dogs in India have a hard life. This is Rani, and she’s a very fortunate dog. She lives in Ganeshpuri with her human mum, Yogini, and is well fed and loved. She also has some doggy brothers and a sister: Shakti, Ilu and Tipu.

Rani is a very regal girl, but she has a gentle heart and nature.

And don’t you just love those crossed paws!

This is my friend Teddy (you’ve met him before). He lives in Geelong, about an hour and a half away from here. My mama met Teddy today in person. She said he’s every bit as adorable as he looks in this photo.

Teddy showed my mum some of the toys he got for Christmas. He got a squeaky chicken, a big blue fluffy bone, and quite a lot more. Teddy’s a spoilt boy. But mama says I am too, so I guess we’re alike in that way.

And Teddy has a few quirky little habits like me – he was sticking his nose in mama’s pockets to see if she had any hankies he could play with, or tissues he could eat. I have to confess to having a bit of a penchant for eating tissues myself. I don’t know my mama freaks out about it. It saves her filling up the rubbish bin with them.
