About me
I’m a male Jack Russell Terrier (not a Foxy – sheesh, can’t you people tell the difference?).
I was born on February 5, 1998 and adopted a few months later, at Easter.
My adoptive family found me all alone in a pet shop window. My dada saw me first, and wanted to take me home. My mama initially resisted the idea of parenthood but when she finally got to see me it was love at first sight!
Where I live
I live in Cheltenham, a bayside suburb in Melbourne, Australia. For the past few years, I’ve had two homes – one with dada and one with mama. I tend to spend more time at dada’s because mama travels a lot for work. At dada’s I share the house with Jennie. She’s getting quite old now. We think she was born in 1987, so that make her about 21. At mama’s there’s no other animals, but there’s a big howling dog who lives over the back fence. I bark at him a lot. Sorry mama, I have to. It’s a dog thing.
How I got my name
My mum and dad were having a hard time thinking about what to call me. A man that my dad works with suggested they call me Bacchus, doG of wHine. They thought it was funny at the time, because my dad is a big collector of wine. My mum thinks it was something she calls ‘prophetic’.
What I like
- sleeping in late
- sleeping in dada’s bed (at mama’s I have my own bedroom)
- going for a W-A-L-K
- jumping excitedly all over visitors (especially when they’re wearing black clothes)
- having coffee with mama in the morning (when I stay at her place)
- eating whatever my mama is eating (human food is definitely more delicious)
- having cuddles in bed with my dada when he gets home from work
- playing ball
- chasing my tail
- chewing bones, stones, blocks of ice, tissues (especially used ones), and a whole lot of other interesting things
The history of my site
I’ve had my own website for years now. It turned into a blog in late October 2001, and has been through lots of redesigns.
I guess you could say I’m a bit of a cyberdog… when I’m not asleep!
