I’ve been on holidays!

Photo: I'm looking out the window at the koalaI’m just home from a BIG ADVENTURE! We spent two weeks on a family holiday at Kennet River, a little place halfway between Lorne and Apollo Bay on the Great Ocean Road (in Victoria, Australia - just in case my international cyberpals are wondering where that is).

Mum and dad rented us a holiday house nestled in amongst the gum trees on the edge of a state park, 10 minutes uphill from the Kennet River surf beach.

It was great fun! I got to see a koala bear - I wanted to chase him, but mum made me look at him through the bedroom window. I squealed and howled, but no matter how much racket I kicked up, she wouldn’t let me any closer to the koala.

There were loads of birdies too. Mum said there were parrots and cockies and even kookaburras. Mum and dad fed them in the mornings and evenings and they’d all come and sit on the railing of our balcony. Again, I wasn’t allowed out to chase them, and again, no amount of howling got me past the door! But it was fun anyways, even though I couldn’t get as close to them as I’d have liked!

It was pretty exhausting too. Loads of walkies, visits to the beach and rides in the C-A-R. Mum took me to see the 12 apostles, and I got sick in the car because the road was so windy.

I’ll get mum to put some of the pictures on Flickr so you can see what a great time we had.

I’m 7 years old!

Photo: Bacchus opens his birthday presentI turned seven years old yesterday, February 5. I would have written about it yesterday except it was such an exciting day that I was really pooped at the end of it and had to get into bed and have a big sleep.

My grandma sent me a present - it was wrapped in blue with a big yellow ribbon on it, and mum put it on the floor and let me rip it apart (I love ripping the paper off my presents, don’t you!). Grandma had taped it up real good, so mum had to help me a bit or I’d have been there all day.

I finally got it open and it had two big bones in it. I’m still eating the first one. It’ll probably take me all week to finish it off. I wanted to eat the yellow ribbon too, but mum took it off me and put it in the bin. She can be a bit of a spoilsport sometimes.

Dad’s present was a big bag of porky bits: a big bone, a pig’s ear, a pig’s trotter, and some other stuff. Yummo. I love pork.

Mum took me for three walks, and she made some little photo collages of me that she’s put online for you to see. She’s gonna make some more, but for the moment, you can see these ones (they’re all pretty big, so watch out):
