Vets - argh!
As anyone who has been here in the past few days will know, our Jennie is not well.
Mum and dad took her to see the local vet Melanie who said she might have high blood pressure, and thyroid or kidney problems. But all the tests she’s had so far have been clear. So Melanie made her an appointment with an eye specialist.
The eye specialist said there is a little swelling of her retina (whatever that is), but she doesn’t think this has anything to do with her problems in controlling her back legs. They’ve put her on steroids for the eye problem, so she won’t be able to swim in Thorpie’s place in the 400m freestyle–she wan’t keen on doing this anyway. She doesn’t like water much. Ten does, but he’s weird.
With all this poking and prodding, poor Jen got all upset today. She peed in her travel box on the way to the vet and then vomited all over the place when she got there. I think she’s had enough of all these animal doctors, and it’s time she cuddled up with me and Ten for a bit of R and R.
And I think mum has had enough of paying vet’s bills. She’s spent over $400 and we’re no closer to getting Jennie well again.
