Cousin Thouzi knows some cows!

Cousin Thouzi wrote:

Dear cousin Bacchus,

Well I thought I would send you a note to say Hi. It’s been a long time since the last one only because I have been so busy chewing up things and going for walks down by the river with the cows and ducks.

Have you ever met a cow Bacchus? You should come to the country to see me and I’ll take you to meet some. I know you don’t like the car much but it would be worth it to come down the river with me. There are all these yummy things to sniff at and sometimes I even meet other puppies down there and have a bit of a play.

It was my 2nd Birthday last month–on the 4th of May. It was a very special day for me. My mum bought me a big choc chip muffin and I sat there and drooled while she sang me Happy Birthday. And then she let me eat it. Yummo. I’ve never had chocolate before. Mum said I was only allowed to have it because it was a special occasion. I wish it was my birthday every day. I also got some Schmackos rings–you had them? They are very yummy too. And a bottle of dog beer. Well it’s not really beer just a plastic squeeky stubby with dog beer written on it. It’s the second one I have had. Dad accidentally threw the other one over the fence and the big mean dog next door chewed it up before mum could get it back. So then she had to drive all the way to Kilmore to get another one because I wouldn’t stop crying.

I have grown very big since I spoke to you last. Dad says I weigh nearly 60 kilos now, but we’re not sure because I won’t sit on the scales long enough to tell.

Well Bacchus, I must go now because it’s time for a nap in front of the heater. Hope your humans are well.

Lots of Licks,
Your cousin, Thouzi

Oh-oh my mum has an Airedale fetish

Photo: Toby, the beautiful AiredaleMum came home all excited today–all because of an Airedale. Dad and I know she’s got this thing about Airedales… it worries us sometimes. Dad does a pretty good job of distracting her. And he tries to remind her that we live in a unit and not a house. And that we’re pretty full up now with two humans, one dog (me), and two cats.

Anyhow, she’s just found out that one of her colleagues has a gorgeous Airedale called Toby, aka “the Womble”. That’s him in the photo you can see–complete with winter shaggy hairdo. In summer, he gets trimmed to look like a piece of modern sculpture.

Toby’s favourite pastimes include trench digging, garden landscape redesign, and clothes destruction! In other words, he’s big TROUBLE! He DIGS STUFF UP. He EATS THE CLOTHES. I hope she remembers that when she starts thinking about replacing me with one of those big funny-looking woolly dogs.

Not that I mean to be breedest, or anything. I’m just worried about ending up being a street dog. I’m not sure I could live on the homeless allowance. In any case, I’d be lonely. And I’d miss that big warm bed.

Sophie is a model

Photo: Sophie wears her DogBlog T-shirtThis is my little friend, Sophie.

She usually lives around the corner with Rosie, who is one of my favourite four-legged friends.

However, she’s just gone overseas to live in the UK for a while. Her parents have taken her on a working holiday–they’re going to work, and she’s having a holiday.

Meanwhile, Rosie is staying with her granddad, which means I don’t get to see her any more.

In this photo, Sophie is modelling a super cool DogBlog T-shirt. You can buy from my online shop if you want to.

Or you could hassle Mum and she’ll probably make one for you.
