Dogs in C-A-Rs

My mum’s friend Dogcow (who is neither a dog nor a cow) told her about this cool web site: Dogs in C-A-Rs (I have to spell it out in case anyone out there gets excited and thinks they’re being asked if they want to go for a ride in a C-A-R).

It’s got lots of pictures of dogs in C-A-Rs. Tons of them.

And, you can even send in your own pictures!

Lilly isn’t lost, she’s just sociable!

Photo of Lilly the poodleThis is Lilly, a gorgeous black poodle who hangs out in St Kilda at her mum’s furniture shop.

My mum met her on Thursday when she was doing something called a ‘wine bar crawl’ with dad, Aunty Nadine, Uncle Chris and Uncle Arpad. Whatever this wine bar crawl thing is, it sure takes a long time. They went out just before lunch time and didn’t come home until very late that night. As usual, I had to stay home to look after the cats.

Anyhow, back to Lilly. She was wandering around in the street outside Luxe wine bar when mum saw her. She was very worried that Lilly was lost and Uncle Chris decided to ring the local council to see if they could find out where she lived.

As it turned out, Lilly was just out for a bit of a walk–a meet and greet thing, saying hello to passers by. She was only two doors down from her mum’s shop, and she often pops out for a chat with the folks in the wine bar.

Everyone thought she was pretty cute, and they loved her soft woolly coat.

How many dogs do a million paws make?

Photo of the doggie mascot for the Million Paws WalkMy cousin Poppy sent me a really cute postcard today with this little dog’s photo on it.

Poppy wanted to know if I was going to go to the Million Paws Walk. I’ve never heard of it before. Wow, a million paws all walking together. Umm… how many dogs is that?

The Walk is on May 18 and dogs can go for free. Humans have to pay an entry fee, and the money goes to the RSPCA.

I don’t know yet if I’ll be going. I’m a bit nervous about big dogs since that nasty dog bit me. But I told mum I’ll think about it.

So Poppy, if you’re reading this–I’m thinking about going, and I’ll let you know soon.

Cinnamon the market dog

Photo: Cinnamon, the market dogThis is Cinnamon and she spends a lot of her time at the Victoria Market in Melbourne.

Cinnamon’s mother works at a stall at the market. She sells wine. My mum and dad met her there, but they didn’t buy any of the wine–which is pretty unusual. They buy lots of wine. In fact, we’ve got a whole cupboard full here at home. And we’ve got lots more at a storage place that keeps the wine at the right temperature so it will still be good enough to drink when mum and dad have finished drinking all the stuff that’s in the cupboard here.

Cinnamon likes meeting people, and it’s just as well she likes having her photo taken. Apparently everyone who sees her wants to take her photo.

I think I’d like to go to the market and meet Cinnamon. But mum said we’d need to go on the train to get there, and I haven’t been on a train yet.

Have you been on a train? Are they scarey or fun? Have you got any tips for train travel for dogs?
