Poppy sent me an email and photo, but I’m a little confused about whether she wants to be a friend.
While the gesture seems friendly in itself, the content of her email suggests the opposite. What do you think?
To Bacchus
I’m the cutest most beautiful little girl U eva did C! Every expression I make is pure cuteness, even when I bare my little crooked teeth when Andrea or Chris try to take my toy mousy away.
But looks are not all I have to offer. I am very smart, and know exactly how to manipulate Andrea and Chris into giving me lots of cuddles and schmackos and taking me on walks. I am allowed to sleep on the bed and am very spoilt, and very deserving of that spoiling.
Chris tries to instill me with discipline when he can but I wont respond to my name unless theres something in it for me. However, despite my cunning I am very loving to my Andrea and my Chris and I go ballistic when they walk through the door and hate it when they have to go out without me.
So I am gorgeous, intelligent and loving.
My faults - I am a little snob and dont like other dogs at all. So unfortunately I would be very rude to yu if we were ever to meet. Andrea and Chris think they are working on this problem but I think its a waste of time, I’m too attached to being the centre of attention to ever invite other doggies to share the limelight with me. Sorry Bacchus!

Aunty Tennielle wrote mum this email with some very sad news about my cousin Hooch.
Poor Hooch was put to sleep on Monday. The tests the vet did came up with nothing; they were hoping it was something to do with his liver then it would have been treatable. but unfortunately not so it looks like he had a brain tumour.
I went around to mum’s on monday and said goodbye to him. It was a very sad day. We were all crying, even dad. I’m even crying writing this to you.
Mum and Dad took him to the vet in the afternoon and he had the needle then they bought him home and put him down in the back yard. I think he will rest peacefully there.
I took some photos of him and some of Thouzi so I will put them on disk and send them to you soon.
Poor Hooch had had a rough trot over the past few months of his life. See previous DogBlog entries about him and his brother, Hulk:

I was going through some old photos last night and I found this one from Christmas 2001, when Uncle Dale came to visit me.
Boy, did we have fun. No one else plays tug of war like Uncle Dale!
I haven’t seen Uncle Dale in a long time, and I haven’t had a good game since. I wish he’d come and play with me again soon.

Mum says she thinks I might be a cow on account of the fact that whenever we go for a walk, I like to stop and chew grass. Lots of grass!
Well, even if I am a cow, I don’t think that’s so bad. My aunty Maxienne would really love me anyway. She’s mad about cows. When she and mum went to India, Maxienne drew lots of pictures and took lots of photos of cows. She even had an exhibition with some art work she’d done that featured the Indian cows. Mum’s got one of her cow prints on our wall.
Now she’s gone and bought herself her very own cow–well, bull actually. He’s made out of fibreglass so she won’t have to worry about feeding him, but he’ll still need lots of cuddles. That’s them together in the photo. Looks like she really loves that cow–err, bull!
