Another email from Bonnie

I got another email message from my friend Bonnie (a week or so ago, but mum has been slack about helping me put it online). Bonnie thinks I’m a foxie, but I’m really a JRT (Foxies have longer, squarer heads). I’m not upset though, because I thought my pussycat friend, Willis, was a girl. But he’s really a boy.

Woof Bacchus,

Bonnie and ScoutI have just got back from my walk with my Mum and I wanted to tell you about it.

I saw my little Foxy friend quite a bit ahead and we tried to catch up but Mum didn’t have the energy!! I could have made it easily but I am polite and wait for my Mum most times. Anyway I wanted to tell him about you so his Mum could also visit your website, hopefully I will see him again tomorrow. It is sad because his Mum has Breast Cancer and has just finished her Chemo thing. I know she would love to visit your web so Mum will tell them soon.

My Mum loves Foxies and tells me when I have gone to Doggie Heaven she is going to get one just like you. We also saw many other dogs in the park this morning but there is one, a white standard poodle, I don’t like. He thinks he is very pretty and King of the park and I’m not jealous because I am just a bitser of this and that but I just don’t like him and tell him so by having a bit of a chase and my Mum gets embarrassed. I’m usually very good in our park (a leads off park) in Canterbury called Boroondara Gardens. I am a very good stick chaser and love to play throw and bring back every morning. If my Mum ignores my stick that I have brought her I take it to other people and put it at their feet and keep nudging it towards them until they throw it for me. I love a Frisby too and have a nice green one. I also love tennis balls. Do you?

Mum tried to see your new Movie Star segment but unfortunately couldn’t download it for some reason. My Mum also has a digital camera, a Canon Ixus but she got it before the movie part was included. She has a digital Movie Camera too and has taken some good movies of me also so you see we are both Movie Stars Bacchus.

I will talk to you again soon,
Pants and runs and fun in the park,
Your new doggie friend,
Bonnie

PS: My Vet says I have four different grandparents, A Border Collie, a Blue Heeler, a Staffordshire Terrier and a Kelpie so I really am a bits and piecer!!

Meet Vonne

Wonne, the beautiful German shepherdHey everybody, meet Wonne.

She’s a beautiful 16 month old German shepherd, and her name is archaic German for “delight” or “bliss”.

I was lucky enough to get Wonne’s photo from my mum who works with Wonne’s dad Keith.

Wonne has lived with Keith and his wife for 6 months, and they love her very much. When they go away on cycling weekends (which isn’t too often as they miss Wonne too much), Wonne gets looked after by friends who also have a German shepherd–and the two of them get along just fine.

I’m going to be a movie star!

Photo: Canon Powershot G2Mum bought a new digital camera, a Canon Powershot G2–sounds impressive, huh!

It takes really good photos and short movies as well, so now I can be a movie star!

We tried it out tonight by taking a very short clip of me playing with a ball. The quality’s not terrific - and the file is compressed so that it won’t take forever to download.

You’ll need RealPlayer 8 or RealOne to view it, and it weighs in at around 900KB.

Stay tuned for some more videos that will be online soon.

‘Woof’ from Bonnie

I got this email from my new friend Bonnie. She’s a real sweetie and so is her cousin Scout.

Bonnie and ScoutDear Bacchus,

My Mummy heard about you driving home from the city today on the radio, so I asked her to say ‘Woof’ to you. You seem like a dear little friendly dog.

My Mummy and Daddy didn’t really get me first, my big sister did, but then she got married and left me here. Well my Mummy didn’t want me to leave and I was happy to stay here with them as I had lived here for six years then.

Baby ScoutI am now 8 years old and my sister bought another dog for herself and her husband. We are friends although it took me a little while to get used to a puppy annoying me when they first came to visit…

I will send you a picture of us together. I am the bitser of this and that, my sister’s dog is a pure bred Border Collie called Scout.

You seem to be very much loved by your parents. Mine won’t let me in their bed. Not even in that room. Oh well I can go into other rooms.

I hope you had a nice walk today. My Mum takes me most mornings and my other sister who still lives at home takes me running with her about four times a week.

Bye for now
Licks and smells etc.
